My name is Mundey Young and I’m the proud owner of Mundey Young Coaching. As a life coach, I’ve spent years working with clients to ensure that they have the necessary skills, support, and compassion that they need to achieve their goals, become one with themselves, and live the life that they’ve always envisioned.
My professional story began at the age of 18 when I left my California home to join the United States Air Force. There I learned the skills of discipline, structure, and dedication and I can honestly say that this was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made – even to this day. My time spent in the military provided me with a number of life skills that I would not have developed elsewhere. Organization, tolerance and dedication to overcoming stress and adversity top the list and in addition,my service helped me foster a stronger belief in myself and my own abilities. It brought me closer to my inner strengths, and it helped me get on the right track.Throughout my five years in the U.S. Air Force, I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska and Little Rock, Arkansas. Another perk to my service was the military’s GI Bill, or delayed education financing that allowed me to go to school later which became the life coaching education I currently practice and love today!
Cambridge, England
After finishing my military service, I became an expatriate for the first time by relocating to Cambridge, England. I love cooking and entertaining and focused on that in England. In Arkansas, I had worked part-time in a French restaurant, so I took that experience and skills set and found a job as a chef in the Officers’ Club at the military base in Cambridge. I also freelanced, filling in for chefs for short amounts of time at restaurants, hotels and golf clubs. After a year, I secured a great job at a French fine dining restaurant in a hotel. My goal to live aboard and my dream to find gainful employment as a chef happened with organization and hard work.Personally, I built my social life around my work and enjoyed cooking and entertaining at home with many new friends.
Paris, France
About five years into my Cambridge life, an opportunity to move to Paris, France came up. I didn’t speak the language, but you don’t always need to! I moved to Paris and found a part-time job where I could work in English with another Anglophone helping her manage her Paris property. I set about learning French at the same time. I saw a need for accommodation management for Anglophone property owners who didn’t speak French or were out of the country often. Putting these two ideas together, I was able to build on that one part-time job, grow it into a real company with employees and create a successful accommodation management business catering to Anglophones. I spent four years in Paris building this company while personally going through some hard situations. But it was thanks to the friends and connections I made there that l got through it stronger than before and decided on my current career as a life coach.
London, England
Knowing that I wanted to get back to helping others and that one of my gifts is quickly and intuitively understanding people and their struggles, I returned to London, England and spent three years studying. I received my ICF Coach Certification from the International Coaching Federation and an Associate Degree in Alternative Medicine from the American College of Health Science.Throughout my studies I gained hands-on experience working with leading teachers and scholars, I developed a deep understanding and gained extensive expertise in health and spirituality. I focused on coaching, spirituality, alternative medicine and connecting with others so that I could become a truly effective coach in my new venture.
Marseille, France
In 2013, I returned to France, moving to the south with the idea of helping expats and others through my coaching. I also felt the need for a group – what better way for people to connect – so I created the Marseille International Business & Cultural Association, a non-profit organization designed to help connect Anglophones and Francophones through business, culture, and language. It continues to bring people together today.
Today
Today, I still live in the south of France with my loving husband and my wonderful son. I enjoy my life abroad filled with new friends as well as old ones. I have started over professionally and personally in many different cities in three different countries. Likewise, I truly believe that each of my clients has the power to live the life that they’ve always envisioned for themselves no matter where they are. My intuitive life coaching style is the perfect combination of my professional training and education and also having lived an expatriate experience. Every step of the way, I’m striving to do everything I can to connect others with their new surroundings. I teach and coach from home, at private businesses, and in training centers throughout Provence – and with every new client, I’m continually striving to help them better themselves through personal growth, personal development, and self-belief
