How International Students in France Can Stay

Passeport Talent – Salarié Qualifié : Passport Talent Graduates Qualified Employee

Are you a graduate of a French University thinking you want to stay in France? Well, I may have just the visa for you.

France wants skilled employees to stick around and since you have a graduate degree that means they need your talents and skills in France. If you have earned a diploma from an institute of higher learning that is accredited then you are in luck. This visa requires a master’s or comparable degree.

The visa falls under our Talent Passport series and is named “Qualified Employee”

The diplomas, delivered from a French higher education establishment, recognised in this respect are:

  • the professional licence (“licence professionnellle”);
  • The Specialised Master’s or Master of Science (ccredited by the French Conference des Grandes Ecoles);
  • at least equivalent to the master.

Here are the other things you will need to obtain this visa:

The great thing about this visa is it allows you to not only stay in France for multiple years but also work. If you are living outside of France, you will need to apply at your local consulate. If you are already studying and living in France, you will need to apply for a change of status at the prefecture or on the dedicated website. You will be asked to prove your eligibility for the desired residence permit.

Make sure to start this process 3 months before your visa expires.

Costs:

Applicants must pay a tax of €200 to the French Immigration and Citizenship Office (Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration – OFII) when the permit is issued. Also, there will be a stamp duty of €25 is also charged on residence permits.

I hope this helped you to have a better understanding of how you can stay in France if you have a higher education degree and have fallen in love with the idea of staying in the country! Tune in for more information on my website and YouTube channel.
