If you have been thinking about becoming a Freelancer or starting a business aboard there are a few things that you need to think about before you embark on your new venture. Today, I am going to share with 3 steps that I think are necessary to take before you invest any time or money.
STEP #1: MAKE SURE YOUR IDEAIS VIABLE WHERE YOU ARE (research, research, research!)
This is the one of the major steps most people looking to start a business aboard overlook. We have to understand that when we are moving to new place, a new culture the way people use and consume servies are different than where you come from. That can be a good and bad thing. That’s why if you have an idea the first thing you need to do is to do your research. This step can not be skipped! unless you just want to waste time and money on an idea that might not even be viable where you are. So how can you do this?
- Go online and look is anybody else offering this service, to establish demand and to size up how much competition you would have. This will also give you some ideas about where there may be a hole in the market that you could fill or how you could take an existing service to see how you can improve it or provide something that is lacking. After you have established there is a need and there is room for your service in the market it is time for you to think about how you can make yourself unique and stand out. The fastest way to do this is to introduce your international self into your business. Bring your culture and your language into your idea and you will automatically standout from the crowd.
The next thing to do is make a detail outline and it will need to have these four components:
1. What is your offer and what services are you providing ?
2.Who is your client? Who would use this service?
3. How would they use this service?
4. How will you deliver this service ?
We can create ideas all day that we think are great you just have to make sure that your target audience also thinks the same thing! You can start by taking surveys on Facebook or with apps like Survey Monkey. Also, this gives you the opportunity to get feedback about your idea and people may give you some insight on how to make your service unique by telling you what they actually need. Feedback is gold!
